We picked at night, under a full moon, as we had in 2005. Sarah worked for days to prepare a picking map so that we could find the individual SB vines scattered through the vineyard-- even in the middle of the night, and not confuse them with chardonnay. We harvested enough fruit for about a dozen cases. This was the first of two years that the wine had fermentation difficulties-- perhaps too much sulfur in the vineyard too close to harvest. The wine is good, but not as beautiful as the 04, 05 or 08.
